I am currently a graduate student at Savannah College of Art and Design studying Printmaking.
I am working on a new body of work that consists of sharing ones true feelings. I am interested in this "wall" that we hide behind to share our true feelings for example, the internet. We have this unbelievable feeling of freedom to share how we really feel and we don't feel afraid because we are hiding behind the computer. So my challenge to the world is to post something on here. It can be anonymous or you can tag your name on to it.
My questions is...
What would you say if you were brave enough? What would you say to that one person, people, or the world if you were not anchored by an unseen weight?
I will be taking this postings (keeping them anonymous of course) and using them in upcoming prints/artists books. So world, YOU are my muse, your words are going to inspire my work. Not only will I be reading these postings, but I will also be sharing some of my own.
So thanks and I look forward to listening to your hearts.
Some days, I dread facing what's ahead; other days I just don't want to even get out of bed; but when I put on my "real face, though fake at times," I discover people need my joy, my zeal for life, my fun, my quirky, silly self . . . and I am glad I faced the day & got up . . .
ReplyDeleteROAD TRIPS:
ReplyDeleteCar games that only the family would understand . . . "Topper!"
Screaming on the side of the road thinking a BIG truck was going to hit us!
Finding a hotel in the middle of Nowhere that took pets . . . and wondering IF IT WAS REALLY THERE!?
Buying a 2 pound bag of boiled peanuts for the last few miles of a long trip and not talking because we were stuffing our face!
And lastly . . .
Those morning Monday through Friday short Road Trips driving to "Florist Hills" and listening to . . . Good Morning Union County! The program was always dedicated to a "little red-headed girl!"
Favorite original song . . .
ReplyDelete"On the road again . . . just can't wait to get back to CARLAWINDS . . . "
If I could say what I wanted to a person, it would be to some of my student's parents. I would say, "The truth is, your child is failing because you aren't doing your job as a parent and supporting them by checking their homework or reading with them. The truth is you make excuses and let other things come before your responsibility to your child. If you were doing your job, your child would be a much better student!" There, I've said it. Ahhh, I feel much better now :)
ReplyDeleteMy big issue. Is STOP SIGNS! Stop means stop not PAUSE! Really!?
